If you take one look around the meditation world it's not to hard to realize it's been gentrified. And while there is some historical precedent for this (such as the permeable lines between religious and government officials in Tibet and other parts of Asia), a lot of meditators have historically been marginalized groups.
Especially in the forest and householder traditions.
