I'm a bit of a fanboi.
Maybe you are too.
Even though it sometimes gets a bad rap. And I get why.
If you drink crap (over-roasted, moldy beans in a styrofoam cup for example) it ain't gonna be pretty. Especially if you're sensitive to caffeine. But even if you are sensitive to caffeine, there's a cheap pill that will 1) take away the jitters, and 2) improve your focus and clarity.
In fact, I take this pill darn near every day.
But it doesn't just work for me:
Once I suggested it to an acquaintance who was asking about "nootropics". Within a few hours he reported back that he had a ton of energy. Not the "bouncing off the walls" kinda energy.
But a smooth, calm, relaxed energy.
The best part?
This pill ain't a drug. It's completely natural. And as I mentioned, it's cheap.
I'm talking about the amino acid: "L-Theanine"
One of the cool things about l-theanine is it's found in green tea. Which is why many people can drink tea... but not coffee. It's also (and I'm guessing a bit here) one of the reasons Buddhist monks drink tea (i.e. l-theanine promotes a meditative state of focused relaxation).
Yes there's the cultural aspect of tea that can't be ignored.
But for a group of people with heavily restricted diets... and who swear off all drugs... it makes sense that they kept tea around not only because they like it, but because it gets them where they need to go.
So pick up a bottle or two ("suntheanine" is the one I recommend and is sold by many of the popular brands) and see what happens.
If it works for you I'd love to know.
That's all for now.
Enjoy your day.
