Today’s email is for daily email subscriber Yami Gonzalez and anyone else interested in learning the ins & outs of copywriting.
Here’s a true story:
The other day I was talking with daily email subscriber Yami Gonzalez when she told me she wanted to follow her writing passion and become a freelance copywriter. Hats off to you for setting sail Yami.
So, here are some of the free copywriting resources I benefited greatly from:
1) The Boron Letters at thegaryhalbertletter com… This is a series of letters the great Gary Halbert wrote to his son while locked up in Boron Federal Penitentiary. Some of it may seem outdated, but when you use your squishy noggin, all of it can be easily and profitably applied to the online marketing world. I’d highly recommend anyone with a direct-response business read this at least a few times (it’s short and can be read in a few sittings).
2) The Gary Halbert Back Issues at thegaryhalberletter com… Gary Halbert also made these free on his site. I haven’t read them all, but all that I've read have been gold. Start with whatever ones interest you (a lot of what you can learn from reading these is Gary’s writing style. He’s one of the best ever in the biz).
3) Eugene Schwartz’s Phillips Publishing Speech (just google that and you’ll find a free .pdf copy)... This came from a speech Eugene Schwartz gave before passing away. In it, he covers similar ground to his book, Breakthrough Advertising, (which currently costs $125). This speech is so deep and good, you can easily read it a dozen times and still find new things.
4) Email Emperor… Ok, I know, it’s a bit arrogant to plug my own book among these illustrious resources. But hey, shameless self-aggrandizement is part of the biz (read enough Gary Halbert letters and you’ll understand what I’m talking about).
So read up and profit.
Ok on to business:
